Gujranwala Electric Power Company
GEPCO's roots go back to the Gujranwala Area Electricity Board, set up in the early 1980s as one of eight regional boards under WAPDA. When Pakistan corporatised its power sector in 1998, that board became Gujranwala Electric Power Company, incorporated on 25 April 1998.
The company now serves Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Narowal and Wazirabad — a district cluster that mixes heavy industry in Gujranwala and Sialkot with agricultural tubewell and domestic load in the smaller towns around them.
